Wireless promo spots are usually terrible. One big problem is that the content of the promotions is decided about one week before they go live. Another is that, well, it's a promo. At its heart, it's just a dry sales message. We were asked to develop a campaign that elevated this genre, and could be shot and edited in a matter of days.
We embraced the run and gun vibe by casting comedians to improvise offers as unusual characters. Production realities dictated a very pared-down set and extremely simple edit. But, it worked. The campaign tested better than any promo campaign Verizon has ever run. And we think they're pretty funny, too.
I was responsible for concept and writing on this project.
